Your flower girl has a big part in the wedding, make sure she is well prepared!

Having a flower girl included in the wedding is a truly great idea, especially if you want your ceremony to be full of joy and positive vibes. However, you should also make sure the little girl you choose is properly prepared for the Big Day too.

How to do that? What are some of the most important things you should know about having a flower girl at your wedding? Read on and find out more.

  • Traditionally, the flower girl tosses flower petals as she walks down the aisle (before the Maid of Honor). However, you can have your flower girl toss candies, blow bubbles or simply hold a floral pomander if your ceremony site doesn’t allow flower petals.
  • You can have more than one flower girl too. In fact, pairing the flower girl with another young lady or with the ring bearer is a great idea, as it will give both of them self-confidence and it will help alleviate the anxiety.
  • Also, it is a very good idea to have your flower girl meet the other bridal attendants before the wedding. This will help her feel more comfortable, knowing that she is surrounded by friendly and familiar faces.
  • To help your flower girl be even more confident, seat her parents in the front row. As she walks down the aisle, she will see their reassuring faces and this will make it less likely that she feels terrified by all the people looking at her.
  • Last, but definitely not least, keep in mind that even with a lot of preparations and planning, children can still be unpredictable. Whatever accidents may happen though, rest assured that it will only bring a huge smile on your guests’ faces.
