Your wedding invitations are really, really important – so you will definitely want everything about them to be absolutely perfect. What are the mistakes to avoid when creating the invitations for the Big Day? We have gathered some of them – so read on and find out more.
- Allowing typos to slip in. Sure, typos may be “human” – but keep in mind that these are your wedding invitations and they should make a flawless first impression. So, before you have your invitations printed out, make sure you check, double-check and triple-check the wording on them!
- Including all of your wedding theme elements on the invitations. While it is definitely a great idea to connect your invitations to your wedding theme, it is also essential that you don’t go over-the-top with this. Choose one or two elements from your wedding (e.g. the colors and a motif) and bring those into the invitation, instead of trying to “cram” an entire wedding on a card.
- Leaving guests with too much time to send their RSVPs. Contrary to what some people may believe, more time does not necessarily guarantee you more RSVPs back on time. As a matter of fact, guests will be more inclined to completely forget about the RSVP if they have too much time on their hands – so set the deadline to three or four weeks after getting the invitations.
- Addressing the envelopes yourself. You may think you’re saving money by doing this, but the truth is that having it done by someone else can actually be a lot less expensive than you imagine (and it will surely save you a lot of time – so it’s more than worth it!).
