Guest Etiquette

The wedding day is all about the bride and groom and their families. I really liked this excerpt from The Emily Post Institute about what a guest should do if:

There is no table card for you at the reception.

If you find yourself with this slip-up, don’t take it personally. It was likely just an oversight, and the important thing is to find a place to sit during the reception. If you know a bridesmaid or a parent of the bride or groom personally, ask them where the best spot for you to sit would be. Otherwise, ask a caterer, who can bring you a chair and set a place for you in an appropriate spot. Most likely the caterer has a printout of the seating chart and may find your name there.

Above all, remain a calm, collected guest. After all, the focus of the big day is not on your late arrival or a missing table card, but on the union of the couple of honor. Nothing should spoil their day.
